HiVolt Electric’s Distribution Lines Department provides overhead line and underground residential distribution (URD) construction, maintenance, and restoration services that support the safe and reliable delivery of electric power. Our crews perform field work with a focus on safety, system reliability, quality execution, and responsive support for both planned projects and service restoration needs.
OH / URD Construction & Maintenance
- Overhead distribution construction and rebuilds (new build, upgrades, hardening)
- Underground distribution / URD (primary and secondary) including trench/duct bank coordination
- Feeder and lateral extensions (new services, capacity adds, tie‑ins)
- Pole replacement programs (planned and emergency change‑outs)
- Transformer work (set/replace; padmount and overhead; change‑outs and upgrades)

Reliability and Modernization Programs
- Targeted hardening and corrective maintenance programs
- Inspection remediation (priority defects, compliance‑driven work)
- Cutover / transfer work (load transfers, sectionalizing, backfeed setup)
- Capacitor bank, regulator, and line equipment installs (per municipal standards)
Switching and Controls Readiness
- Switch installation and replacements (manual and motor‑operated, where applicable)
- Reclosers and sectionalizing devices (installation, swap‑outs, commissioning readiness support)
- SCADA / communications readiness support (mounting, conduit, cabinet prep as required)
- Grounding and bonding (owner specification compliant; documentation support)
Street Lighting & Area Lighting
- LED conversion programs (cobra head and area lighting, where applicable)
- Fixture changeouts, bracket/arm replacements, and knockdown repairs
- Photocell / control installs and troubleshooting
- Public safety make‑safe response and Storm Restoration support
Vegetation Support Interface
- Line-clearance coordination with vegetation partners
- Work packaging around vegetation cycles (to reduce revisits and outages)

Project Controls, Documentation, and Closeout
- Planning and scheduling aligned to access windows, outages, and customer impact constraints
- Owner‑ready closeout packages (photos, as‑built markups, device/asset information where required)
- Material reconciliation and staging coordination where applicable
Daily/weekly reporting options aligned to program KPIs (productivity, backlog, schedule adherence) where requested
Emergency Response and Restoration
- Rapid mobilization for restoration (trouble work, patrol support, repairs)
- On‑call response for outages and urgent repairs
- Storm Restoration surge support and mobilization planning
- Temporary power / bypass support (where allowed by utility standards)
- Material staging and logistics coordination
- Safety-first Storm Operations (tailboards, job brief documentation, daily reporting)
